This policy addresses communication with prosecuting authorities where the university (or one of its DSOs or the clinical practice plan) is the victim of a crime. In such instances, it is the responsibility of the Office of the General Counsel to serve as the liaison between the University as victim and the prosecuting authority(ies). To address questions raised regarding other criminal circumstances that are not addressed by this policy directly, we have added language specific to situations where an individual is the victim of a crime on or off campus or where an employee acting within the course of their employment is a victim of a crime.
